Where: International Convention Centre, Sydney – Room E5.7

When: Day 3 – Friday, 15 June 2018, 10.00 – 10.30

Abstract Outline: The presentation examines criteria used to assess pumping energy efficiency for existing aged irrigation systems and then reverse engineers these criteria for potential inclusion into proposed irrigation system specifications.
Criteria including pump efficiency, BEP, pumped head, diesel pumping, kWh/ML, kWh/ML/m and water pumped will all be examined and assessed for practical and meaningful ways to be included in specifications, and where applicable, evaluated with potential return on Investment (ROI).
The presentation will show that there are very limited ways that these criteria can be incorporated directly, but that there are a number of ways that they can be included INDIRECTLY such that the outcomes are in alignment with existing irrigation system pumping energy efficiency auditing aims and criteria.
