Mohammed YOUNUS is a PhD student at the University of Southern Queensland working with Dr Joseph FOLEY and Dr Malcolm GILLIES on a topic related to previous research activity at NCEA on sprinkler performance improvement in windy conditions. Mohammed studied his Masters Degree in experimental agriculture with machinery in Iraq before coming to Australia to study English and complete PhD research work with National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture in Irrigation Engineering.

Abstract Outline: This oral presentation will describe the outcomes of PhD research activities on field tests and modelled end-gun irrigation performance on centre pivots under windy conditions. The extent and nature of the field testing, the alterations specific to modelling of centre pivot end-gun irrigation uniformity will discussed, along with recommendations to industry on standard end-gun configurations and their performance under a variety of wind conditions.
