Michael Cutting has been involved in the development and implementation of sustainable land and water management projects and programs in the SA Murray-Darling Basin region since 2004. More recently Michael has led the delivery of the Australian Government funded On-Farm Irrigation Efficiency Program (OFIEP) and the Commonwealth On-Farm Further Irrigation Efficiency (COFFIE) programme projects funded through the SA Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board.

Abstract Outline: This presentation will outline the progress of water recovery through irrigation investment in the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin region and consider the opportunities for further water recovery in the context of the continuing implementation of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
The South Australian Murray-Darling Natural Resources Management Board has acted as a Delivery Partner in the Australian Government’s On-Farm Irrigation Efficiency Program (R1-R4) and recently commenced delivery of the first Pilot of the Commonwealth On-Farm Further Irrigation Efficiency (COFFIE) programme.
This presentation/panel session will highlight the outcomes that have been achieved through these programmes and consider what the future holds in terms of further water recovery through irrigation efficiency investment.
